I need help with choosing a cruise?

hey all my family and i (10 ppl) r booking a cruise we want to go to mexico were debating on holland america oosterdam or royal caribbean vision of the seas were trying to see what is a better ship to have more fun on good entertainment for children with all ages and adults and senior citezins over all better prices and ship!
-thanks!

Answer :
Holland America tends to be a lot older crowd. Royal Caribbean, while catering to an older crowd than Carnival, have many activities that are geared toward a younger group (like the rock walls and water slides)

Answer :
I disagree with the first respondent. I've been on 4 Holland America cruises, 3 to the Caribbean and 1 to Alaska and 1 cruise on Royal Caribbean. There's plenty to do for kids on Holland America, they have a HAL teen club and innumerable activities for all ages. Holland America does not have a disproportionate number of seniors, it does however have fewer of the single, loud, partying types. I find Holland America to be equal to or better than Royal Caribbean in terms of service, cuisine and clientele. While you will enjoy the cruise on either ship, do check out the ports of call, and the prices, and make your choice accordingly.

Answer :
for kids, princess is not good, either Royal careabean, a lots of senior there, since it's little fancy both of them most people are seniors!! I am speaking on experience, try Carnaval Cruise ship, they cheapest and most people young and kids, that's my advice! good luck it's so much fun!

Answer :
Go with Royal Caribbean. Holland America has a lot more seniors on it and not a lot for kids to do. Also consider Princess too. They have a little of everything, but Royal Caribbean is a very good cruise line if you are interested in that one.

Answer :
Holland America (Oosterdam) is a vista class ship which was voted number 1 for kids last year. They are a full five star ship so they tend to have a large senior crowd as well. The other ship I would reccomend going out of L.A. is the Sapphire Princess.

Answer :
for kids, princess is nice, royal carribean is nice for kids too.
holland america typically has a more reserved experience. NOt too much for kids there.

have a wonderful time.

Answer :
Go Princess or Royal Caribbean. They're the BEST! Holland America is mostly just adults. If you go Princess or Royal Caribbean, everyone will have a great time.

Answer :
remember that cruises over charge on drinks!!

you should def take some flasks! and sneak in alcohol cuz the drinks are so expensive i've used www.floridaflasks.com, it works

Oosterdam cruise pictures?

I just went on an cruise to the mexican rivera on the ship the oosterdam, from the company holland america. The dates were December 25, 2008- January 3, 2009. Do you know where i can find pictures from that cruise?

Answer :
At http://hollandamerica.com, you can look at all of their ships photos, take virtual tours of the public rooms and watch videos!

They don't show photos from each cruise individually. They usually create a DVD on board with memories from that cruise.

Holland America under 21 entertainment?

Hey all!
I'm going on Holland America's Oosterdam Mexican Riviera Cruise in a few weeks and I'm worried there isn't going to be much for me to do after hours. I'm 19, too old for the "teen" club and too young to drink. I was wondering if anyone knew if under the night clubs on board are 18+ or 21+ ? I'm really worried about this seeing as it's only me, my brother and my parents, all of who are over 21, but me.
If anyone has an answer or experience on this or any other Holland America Cruise please let me know!
Thanks!

Answer :
Holland America's passengers tend to skew older than most other mass-market lines. But if your cruise is only seven days and is during a period when college kids might be on board with their parents, you may have some people to hang out with. There isn't a whole lot of entertainment that would interest young people on HAL, in general, and things tend to close down pretty early [by midnight]. Other than the bars with music, there won't be a lot of other venues for you at night. During the day there are a few things like trivia, cooking demos, etc. The ship does have a very nice library, so you'll be able to find some good reading, and you can work on your tan around by pool.

You might want to check out CruiseCritic.com. If you go to "Boards", then "Roll Call", you can find your sailing and "meet" others on your trip. You'll have to join CC but it's free. There's lots of other useful and timely info on the other boards, too.

Answer :
You should be able to hang out with your parnts and your brother and have a lot of fun.

You probably will meet other girls your age and you can hang with them
